Fonts in amiga/pegasos
« on: February 18, 2007, 07:45:09 PM »
I never played around with fonts actually until now.
I am using Fxpaint and want to use a larger font off say like 60 or 75.
I do see 2 differnt methods:TTfonts and disktoolfonts.
The ttfonts option doesn't provide fonts.
The diskfont has three options :All Fixed width Bitmap.
But I can't use all the fonts while there size is mentioned on the other side.
Eg: when I choose the  bitmap font times 60 points I get a doesn't exist error while it is mentioned on the size options.
Maybe there is a idiot/newbie  guide somewhere for these fonts options?

I don't know if FxPaint is different, but usually a font requester has an input field below the list of font sizes where you can enter a size not mentioned in the list.

Bye,
Thomas

I'm not quite sure if the larger size thing works with bitmap fonts. It does with scalable fonts though (CG or freetype).

Anyway, the actual size is entered to the 'Fontsize' field.

On a separate, yet related note, do not forget that TTFlib allows the Amiga to read TrueType fonts as if they were scalable, compugraphic.

Cheers,
