Thanks to all for the suggestions!
Managed to copy files via a null modem cable
(from Maplins - lots of wierd and wonderfull stuff there)
and TwinExpress software.
It was quicker than I thought at the old baud rate of 9600!
(BTW - I packed the files using lha. to save time during the transfer)
However, although the emulated Amiga works well, I still prefer using the real Amiga for Dpaint and stuff!
So cheers and a Happy New year!

I see you got your stuff transfered but thought I would share my 2 cents worth. I recently had my A4000 HD crash. However I had two HD's in the system. After reading several threads and trying to get it going I wound up putting the second HD in my PC running UAE and reloading WB on the good drive. Took the drive out, back in the A4000 and it booted right up. I did have to disable the safety check I believe cant remenber all the steps but it did work, I even transfered all the files of the good drive to my PC in a special folder.

Happy New Year :-D

Good stuff,  I remember using TwinExpress many moons ago!

I can't believe nobody mentioned the humble old floppy as a valid way of transferring stuff!!! :-)

You can take your 2.5" Amiga formatted HD and plug a 2.5" to 3.5" IDE converter and plug into a PC IDE socket.

Now, under WinUAE you can mount it. Piece of cake :)

I was just about to suggest that :)
