thanks v.much for reply.
as your well aware,the hd floppy drive in the a4000 don't last  forever- and i think the upper head in the drive is either on it's way out or it might need re-aligning. (if thats possible)
so thats why it's vital that i can boot from ext. floppy!

FYI - it's considered a good idea to reply to existing threads rather than starting new ones in reply to messages, otherwise you end up with several disjointed threads about the same topic. Pressing the Reply button in the thread view will allow you to reply to an existing thread rather than starting a new one.
