Matt Damon is to plays Captain James T. Kirk, in Star Trek XI (2008.
The film will focus on the `early days` of  James T. Kirk and Spock, including their first meeting at Starfleet Academy and first outer space mission.

Actually this idea and the one since then have both been abandoned by Paramount. You guys need to stop missing the Trek Geek meetings.
