Does a Clock Port Doubler exist?
« on: July 25, 2006, 10:46:56 AM »
i rememeber there was such a device as a quad clock port adapter, and the silver surfer / budda IDE has more than one clock port.

is there anyway of plugging in more than one clock port device to the A1200?

i already have a subway USB card (one of the best things i've ever got - thanks E3B and amigakit :-)) and am tempted by the delfina sound card... and having both in at once would be great..

A500, A600, A1200x3, A2000, A3000, A4000 & a CD32.
and probably just like the rest of you, crates full of related "treasure" for the above XD

You're talking about the Queddddroport. The hardware that you plug onto the expanded clockport must support such a thing, some only work with the internal clockport.

I took the easy way out and used a Melody1200Pro with passthrough clockport where I installed an I/O card. :)

Some revisions (maybe all?) have another clockport pad on the mobo, you just have to solder on the pins.

Also you could wait as someone is currently making a 4way clockport adapter.

Wrong. Some of the oldest revisions indeed have some more pins, but that is where the 1 MB ChipRAM Upgrade (with clock) should go. The original design was to sell the A1200 with 1 MB ChipRAM and sell an 1 MB with clock upgrade.
The A1200 endet up getting the full 2 MB right away (but no clock) So in later revision the pins that carry the datalines for the ChipRAM expansion were omitted. The pins for the clockpart remained and became the clockport.
Not really interesting, but it`s there.
