Floppy power connector on ELBOX WinnerZIV busboard...
« on: July 18, 2006, 10:46:43 PM »
Just got an ELBOX WinnerZIV busboard , and on top of the AT power connectors (P8,P9) there is a small power connector, like the one of floppies... am I supposed to connect it also on the psu?
anyone knows ?

No, connecting the AT power connectors (P8,P9) on the ZIV is enough. If you plug the Z4 into an Infinitiv tower with the special power connector then you also should connect to that small power connector which gives the +5V and +12V. The missing -12V come from the motherboard to the ZIV. This is an extract from a mounting guideline I got together with the ZIV.

maybe it is my combination of hardware... fastata/dce scandoubler/BPPC these might draw lots of power and maybe the extra input is needed...

and I think it is a bad thing not to connect the power to winnerZIV...

I have a CV64/3D with SD, XSurf, Catweasel and a BPPC but dont need the small power connector.

I would recommend to use the P8/P9 AT connectors too. I think its more stable.

The extra floppy power connector on Z-IV busboard is intended for users with BVision cards. It basically adds extra power for BVision, if you plug a PSU floppy power plug into it. That's what it says in the manual. :-)

I have a hard copy of the manual. Perhaps I could take some digital photos of it over the weekend and send it to you guys. I think it should be good enough, as far as image quality is conserned.
