Color settings

 I just bought a new monitor and i have a question about color settings,i have my monitor settings set to brightness 0 and contrast 65,but my graphics card color settings is brightness 0 contrast 100,are they suposed to match exactly,or what?

No. The monitor settings apply on top of the gfx card settings. They are in no way related. Also the numbers don't have much meaning as does the scaling. Sometimes values range from -100 to +100, sometimes from 0 to 200 or from 0 to 100 and there is no definition what +1 or -1 means.
The only corelation is that you can move the gfx cards' settings to a very bright position and the monitor's settings to a very dark position, only to get "normal" brightness on the screen. In reality you should leave all settings in near the center and only change them slightly to get best quality.

Additionally, if you connect several computers to the same monitor, you should adjust the computers with each other so that they all output a picture of the same quality. Otherwise you'd have to adjust the monitor's settings whenever you switch between computers.

Modern monitors usually adjust settings automatically when screen modes are switched, so you don't have to do it manually. At least flat screen monitors do this.
