Anyone have a repair manual for an A4000

Thanks though the schematics are nice, they will not really be helpful in what I am looking for.  I appreciate your help nonetheless.  :-)

Specifically, I could use an idea of what parts I need on the case and how the connectors go on the mainboard.   I am referring to the three 3-pin connectors that connect to the front of the case marked key (CN200), PWR (CN303), and DISK (CN302)... I know they go to the keylock, Powerled and Disk LED on the front panel (which btw is missing the 2 LEDS) but the question is does the > indicate that pin 1 is on that side of the connector?

Example (please excuse art ;-)):

CN200 0 0 0 > KEY

where the 0 0 0 would be the connector of course.

I believe the > does indicate pin one.  You can't really hurt anything even if you switch the polarity; the led just won't light.  You don't even need to hook up the keyboard lock at all, btw.  Go buy some led's at Radioshack and have at it with some wire and solder.

There are so many parts missing from this thing, but I hope to be able to find enough parts to test the mainboards anyhow :-)

What parts do you need to test the mainboard?  imho you only would need a power supply, you don't need the daughterboard, mouse, keyboard, floppy or a harddisk to see if the thing works.  Pop a 2 or 4MB double-sided simm in the first simm socket (chip ram), hook it up to an Amiga monitor via the 23 pin rgb port and it should give you the install disk boot screen.  There are only two easily replaceable chips on most A4000D motherboards, the two rom chips that is.  Superbuster may be in a PLCC socket for easy replacement, but use a proper puller tool to remove/replace it.  If it doesn't give you the boot screen, and instead all you see is black (bad), or grey (not much better), you've got problems, for all the other chips are surface mounted and not easily replaceable for the average home solder tech.

For a floppy, you may luck out and find as I did that a standard pc high density floppy (Sony, Mitsumi) works as df0: to boot the machine into workbench (though from that point forward you'd probably have to use the diskchange command to switch disks or an external floppy drive on df2:).

Oh, I almost forgot, you need some kind of cpu card installed (A3630, A3640, etc.) and set the jumpers accordingly for the internal/external clocks.

Yes I would need a CPU card to test the machine at least.  Have the Power Supply which we tested under load and all connectors show the proper voltage.  The thing is, if both boards work, I will want to build the A4000 all the way back up :-)

EDIT:  The only parts I have right now are a shell of a case with a front panel.  The power switch/rod is missing, the drive towers are missing, any support in the case is missing... it is literally just two mainboards (one in the case and one not installed) and the shell and Power Supply.

EDIT:  I could also use the drive cover that covers the bottom drive of the A4000 (second floppy area)... wish there was a blow up someplace of the case so I could possibly see what parts I need.  Information is welcome.

Been doing some thinking on this, and this case is so in need of parts (based on pictures I have been looking at) that I probably could just use to get one or two dead A4000s with complete cases or at least complete cases from a couple of A4000's :-)  If anyone can help here... it would be very much appreciated.
