Yeah, you better hide! ;-)

Seriously, I don't know where all those stories come from about people screwing sheep. Mention sheep to anyone these days and they joke about sex with one. Have you ever looked at a sheep closely? They're pretty dirty and anyone thinking of screwing one must be one sick freak. Besides, sheep scare easily so I doubt anyone would be able to get close enough to screw one. I have heard news stories though of people in Africa screwing goats to avoid AIDS - even multiple guys sharing the same goat. I pity those poor goats.

It seems you've never been to Wales or Yorkshire then! :lol:

One of the worst things is when after opening every bloody window, switching on the fan, chucking the covers off the bed in order to have a remote chance of sleeping. suddenly waking up to find that it's 4am and it's suddenly droped from 25 degrees to 3 and you're freaking freezing.

:lol:

So true...

Although if I had my way, we'd be investing billions into those giant orbiting mirrors of sci fi lore.  That way I could deal with my winter SAD and enjoy after work xmas shopping in daylight.

Wow, a lot of people to respond to! Here goes :-)

@Doobrey
Thanks, still feel crap today but have a feeling I'll feel a lot better after a good nights' sleep.

@Oliver
I couldn't function with so little sleep. How do you cope  :-o

@mr_a500
Blame Faithless for the double negative :-)

@Speelgoedmannetje
Midnight isn't that late, but when I'm ill I need lots of sleep to recover. So in this case, 00:00 was very late.

@Whabang
Wicked track innit  :afro:

@PMC
Wouldn't giant orbiting mirrors reflect sunlight away, this making the Earth colder and darker?

Not very well, to be honest.  Thanks for asking.  One can get used to it a bit, but it's still not good.

I can actually very clearly remember sleeping very well, once.  Only once though.  I felt totally different the next day.  It amazed the hell out of me, that I could actuallly feel awake and alert in the morning, and even happy (I'm really not a morning person).  When I told my friends about my discovery, they all just looked at me so strangely.  Oh well, not much I can do about it.

Here, it's 02:40.  I think I got to sleep at about 05:00 this morning, and got up at 08:00.  Can't say I've got much work done today.

Well off to bed now.  Wish me luck.   :sleep:  Good night folks.
Good good study, day day up!

ah, well, Cecilia apparently didn't read this she'd reccomend alkolol.
Though I'm here and I reccomend you'd drink some hot groc (hot citron lemonade with gin and citron juice). And maybe this will cheer you up ;-)

Ahhhhhh.... Rick... You remembered :lol:

No alcohol for me - not when I'm under the weather. Want to give my immune system the best chance of fighting this thing off before Saturday, which means lots of water and, for some reason, ketchup sandwiches, which is what my body is craving at the moment!  :crazy:

Of course I remember

Alcohol in small quantities can help your immune system: like more blood is going through your veins, so more white bloodcells reach the by alcohol weakened bacteria. :-)
And lots of water is of course good too.

Eyso, you sound like a drunkard trying to justify your alcoholism. You're in good company though :-P ;-)

:lol:
I hoped to prevent such a reaction with writing "in small quantities" but obviously that's a subjective term :lol: (and it being written in plural form doesn't help either)

On the subject of Faithless (the group behind the topic's lyrics) I find their contributor Dido the perfect antidote to insomnia. However you have to regulate your dosage of Dido as large quantities can lead to suicidal tendancies.

Seriously though, a good antidote to both humidity and heat is a small home air conditioning unit. Fujitsu make good ones for offices but you can get small 300 GBP ones from the Argos catalogue. You'll have to take into consideration an outlet pipe for the hot air and another pipe for external drainage of the condensed moisture (most have an internal 3L tank).

I found in this hot weather it was easier to fall asleep with the light on, maybe this confuses the endocrine system. Also, smell is an important part of the consciousness so maybe a fresh or sweet smelling scent may aid slumber.
