Hi,

It would appear your Installer software is missing. Try this one from Aminet.

thanks, inthesand. but instead i just copied over INSTALLER tool from a diskette straight into HD0's C directory. worked fine.

WHDLOAD installed fine

going to try and run some games. but with CHIP of 2Mb might not get far (have to wait till tomorrow for installation of my Acc' card). still might be able to run some ECS games maybe

check this:

i got CFodder to work with WHDLOAD but i think JUST BARELY. i had 1.6Mb left. it loaded up but when it did, the screen cut out and so did the sound. it ran okay but there were cut outs - is this because of lack of memory?

thankyou

I find using FTP I cant do anything with files except copy them from one computer to another so maybe thats why you couldnt install it your way!

With cannon fodder try turning the Preload option off in your whdload prefs

The flicker is caused by OS accesses.  The more the install has to access the HD, the more it will cut out.  If you have more memory you can use the PRELOAD option to load the entire game into RAM.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(
