You will need either workbench 3.1 which has native support for *most* Cd drives or you will have to download a CD filesystem eg AmiCDFS.

if you want to connect a hard disk and a cdrom on an a1200
you need this cable 2.5 to 3.5 ide. as for the board, what board it is?

A1260BPPC AmigaOS 3.9/4.0
Sam440ep AmigaOS 4.1.2
PegasosII/G3 AmigaOS 4.1.2/MorphOS 2.7/Debian 5.0.7/SUSE 11.1

If i am going to have bugs on my system,

Really need more info to help you here... like what Amiga you are using? Most laptop CD-ROMs need an adaptor to connect them to an IDE interface. What model of CD-ROM is it?

You either need the cable Amije linked to above, or a 4 way IDE splitter. This will let you connect the CD-ROM and hard drive at the same time.

You might also need something like this so you can connect the CD-ROM to the IDE cable, but this will depend on the type of interface and connector on the back of the CD-ROM.
