ok heres the deal since you can browse the web, ping , and should be able to ftp but you just cant get the AE to each other. you probly getting a error something like this
"local host can not be reached error 127.0.0.1"

the problem lies in the tool types of the amigas side of AE make sure you know what your amiga ip is from the router 192.168.X.X what ever your using. now change that ip in the tool type of AE on the amiga side, you'll see it..

no check the readme and find out what ports AE uses and set them up in the router.

now I dont know about genisis since I use miamiDX I had to set up my Ip manually and then reboot everything, not forgetting to save the changes. also you might have to adjust firewall setting in genisis I had to in miamiDX

thanks i must be nearly there, when i launch AE in windows xp it is now saying "error there has been a conflict accessing amiga explorer resources". AE troubleshoot says its to do with my virus protection in windows, but i am unsure how to correct this??

What virus protection are you using?

Do you have anything else which might block particular ports?
Good good study, day day up!

make sure windows firewall is off and if you have zonealarm.. dump it. if you have a router and windows firewall thats all you need for a good protection.

now reboot everything one at a time.

bring up the amiga get it connected to the net/network make it ping the router.

then bring the windows up start ae on the pc side..

now run genises on the miggy side get it connected.. now run AE you should see the PC.. ooo' one last thing make sure you have file/prt sharring on the pc side running.. that is a must
