What do you mean by chip-revision? OCS/ECS-screenmodes?

Are you running the video out through a flicker fixer, graphics card or straight to the monitor. Some flicker fixers and graphic cards do not like non standard video modes.
Amiga 2000HD Indivision ECS
Amiga 4000D towerised OS 3.1 and 3.9 on CF cards
Indivision AGA, Mediator 4000
Video Toaster 4000 Flyer v4.3 Millenium.

I'm having (nearly) the same problem with my A4000D!

Irregardless of which screenmode (lowres to superhireslaced, 4 colours to 256 colours) I'm in, I get a reddish-orange colour bleed effect coming off icons, window borders, etc.

This occurs both when the system is sitting idle AND when under load, and will occur whether I'm using standard Amiga RGB video on my 1084, or on an SVGA monitor using the silver C= SVGA adaptor under "DBLNTSC" and "Productivity" modes!

I even installed my A2000's Opalvision card into the A4000 and got the same effect, so I don't think it's merely the RGB port...

The problem didn't go away when I upgraded the HD & RAM in the unit and reinstalled the OS (I figured "software problem" at first).

This has plagued me since I got the A4000 from eBay years ago.  It's an unaccelerated A4000 w/3.0 ROMs, WB3.0, 18Mb RAM (2 chip, 16 fast).

Also, the problem isn't constant.  Sometimes, I can boot the machine up and the video will be fine for a few minutes (or even hours), but it *WILL* invariably pop up.

I'm thinking it's a chipset problem at this point.

Any ideas?
