slimjim: let me put it like this , i use moovid for playback and it roxxors.

and the game is still fantastic even if its an old game.

ikir: sorry about the joke but i did write a :-P , anyway i'd guess 50 fps in sw render and for hw render i dont know really ...as my eyes can only detect 25+ fps ...ie the smoothness.

i can happily report that i have completed freespace on my classic amiga (060 with mediator) in w3d and on my classic with wos w3d... and now on my a1 with Sw render and with w3d.

noticeably the a1 was easier to complete due to the last levels (because of the fps).

The game aint slow on classic but the final levels are a pain with good detail.

I just heard some minutes ago that freespace 2 has alot more eyecandy but its also less good in playbility so there is yet another reason to why playbility roolz.

I did a quick test with FRAPs on my PC. The game runs at a constant 60 FPS.

Since the source of Freespace 2 is also available, will it be the next step?

Freespace 2 would be great and so would Quake III!

If anybody is having difficulty finding Freespace, it is in stock at www.amigakit.com

@whabang, sounds like you have 60Hz on your monitor and have vertical sync enabled. If not then maybe you haven't fixed the "60Hz bug". Just a thought.  :-)

The game I would like to see on Amiga is StarCraft.  :-D
Mainframe: Amiga 3000 Tower, CSPPC233/060, 144+2MB, 36GB UW, Prometheus, Voodoo5 5500, 10Mbit, 24xCDr, OS 4.0 ....Amiga since 1987.

This thread was started over a year ago. I wonder how things have changed since update 3 came out recently (relatively). Anybody have any info?

(Whoops! That should have been update 4 in February 2006). :-D
