amiga 4000 to scart help please

hello i downloaded this diagram for amiga to scart from here

and made it but i get a grey color over the screen in the background you can see the workbench is there ok but why would it have a grey like screen covering it all.

im trying this on a 4000 as im trying to get a quick solution as i dont have any other means of using my new well old 4000 turned up today bt has no modulator or monitor connector to vga so im buggered.

has anyone got a good diagram or know the correct pins to connect to make it work properly for my 4000.

well it looks fine to me ,does the 4000 or any amiga output in rgb automaticaly or do you have to tell it to.??

i tried in on my 1200 aswell and it does the same.

as far as i remember the amiga output to both the rgb and ttl pins. one of the pins give 5v to the scart to open the rgb port of the monitor. at least this way works with real tv sets. the amiga pin 23 5v goes to scart pin 16. remember always to power on the amiga first and after the tv. and NEVER connect/reconnect this cable when amiga and/or tv is on. i burned down my tv's scart rgb in back in 1995 because i was in a harry. i use the same cable for years now with the 1084 monitor and there is not any limit to power on/off the amiga or the monitor first. just take care with tv sets :-)

you are a complete star thats the 1 i was missing i thought i would need to tell it to rgb but didnt know how.
