Elbox Fast-ATA Mk.III: looking for feedbacks

Hi everyone!

Some months ago I tried an Elbox Fast-ATA Mk.II board on my A1200. The speed was impressive but it was very unstable.
Since I had it for few days, I don't know if it was defective or that was a common issue but - as I just said - I was very impressed with speed I could reach with it!

Now I'm evaluating to buy a new Fast-ATA Mk.III but I'd like to get some feedbacks about its stability.

Sorry, but why don't you use SCSI (I just had a look at your sig)? More reliable, faster and less of a CPU-hog.

if your using classic amiga scsi is the way to go.... and you can also use flascard with adapters instead of old hds..

The Fast ATA mk III is fast but needs a lot of cpu power to run. If you use the SCSI it has dma that does not affect the cpu that much..

As said before IDE on a classic Amiga is only a worst case, better then nothing solution.

If you were impressed by the speed of the FastATA then you will be blown away by the performance of a humble SCSI-kit

Hello guys, first of all thanks for your suggestions!

Considering that my A1200 is in its original desktop case (and I want mantain it), what is the best way to use a SCSI HD?

I have to link an external SCSI-2 HP cd-burner to the external DB-25 port provided by the Blizzard SCSI-IV board (I'm waiting for the cable) but the burner has a pass-through D-SUB 50 port.

In addition, could you suggest me a good SCSI HD?
I would have at least 20-30 GB, it should be reliable and quiet!  :-D
