Grounding Sheath - GVP A500-HD+ / A500-HD8+
« on: March 12, 2006, 04:13:33 PM »
I seem to remember the above drives coming with a sheath of sorts that fit around the A500 expansion port.  Can someone confim if this is indeed a requirement, and what the manual says about it?

I can confirm that it does exist and no it's not requiered for the machine to work (when helping a friend with an A500 project we actualy had to remove the upper shield of his GVP500 HD8+ as it would run up against the A500 clockport addaptor... and the controller work just fine without it). My guess is that it's more a question of follow shielding regulations and some meens of protecting the curcuitboard than anything else.
