Amiga CDBoot Revisted (The Solution)
« on: March 02, 2006, 09:41:24 PM »
Just to let you all know I did indeed solve my cd boot problem on the A1200 with BlizzPPC SCSI. The ability to actually boot from CD (with no software intervention) seems to be only possible on an initial boot. By this I mean a power cycle (when you first switch on). This is the only time you will get CDO listed as a bootable device in the early start-up (both mouse buttons).
It is not listed when doing a reboot or 3 fingered salute.

It took a while but I got there in the end.

Good 'ol determination ;-)  ;-)  ;-)

Wow, cool...

So if you have a PowerUP board CD0: appears above/below CC0: DF0: and DH0: ?

Just one thought on the cold-reboot problem you have. When you hold '2' to switch off the '060 on the Blizzard 1260 you can hold Ctrl-A-A for 15 seconds to get back the '060.

I wonder if by giving the "3 finger salute" an extra few seconds your CD0: will re-initialise?

I've often wondered what can appear in that little scroll bar in the early startup menu. Does DF1: DF2: DF3: show up with different priorities and what about USB?

Does the Expansions sub-menu only show devices connected to the Zorro-2 trapdoor connector or would a clockport device show up?

Anyway, glad it's working now!
