Bought this thing on ebay and plugged it into my A4000 w/CSPPC/060 and os 3.1. I got the software online and did some reading and now it mostly works, but lately when I start it up I get a scrambled screen that I can almost read, although the cursor wraps around the screen and I sort of have to experiment with where it is. The screen tells me intuition is attempting to adjust the screen mode or some such thing and asks me to close all windows etc, but I can't easily locate the cancel or okay buttons because of the scrambled screen. I have tried to hold both buttons down to see if I can change some configuration so it boots to a clean screen, but it's very eratic. In fact, sometimes as I am booting and holding the two buttons down it simply goes to a perfectly fine workbench screen. Maybe I missed the timing or something.
I also find that many programs will not boot up properly or display properly, like Caligari 24. All I get is a plain grey screen, no windows, no nothin'. I reboot and try again with a different program. Could somebody let me know if this is a common occurance? I thought that this board would allow me to run my stuff with a nice big NEC multisync but now I'm wondering if I have to go back to my little C=1960 screen. Any explanations should be phrased in easy to understand details as my tech expertise is pretty much nil. I'm a user, not a technician. I can add boards and run software, but adjustments and such are not intuitive with me, I always end up using default settings. Pitiful I know, but that's me. I can tell you how to fire a multi-chambered Japanese noborigama kiln, though! Need any ceramic sculpture? :-D
