Sig says it all...
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

The initial design was based on the Freescale's integrated host processor MPC8245 where the core is a MPC603e PowerPC cpu. Due to time passing on, Freescale presented the successor MPC5200 with a core at 400Mhz that will deliver 760 MIPS and only consuming 1W. The chip has besides integrated DMA-controller and DDR-memory controller also 100Mbit Ethernet and USB 1.1. Later versions of the card will be using the 466Mhz version of the CPU, that will deliver amply 880MIPS.

Taken from here.

Thats at least one reason for delay. This is the same chip used by Genesi Efika board.

@DJbase or Matthias Munich

Why don't YOU make excuses to ME ?

I paid you a lot of money, but YOU refuse to send me the Rom Kernel Manuals...

And why don't you just mail me in private ?

Do I have to write comments in every Amiga forum where I read your posts ??? People don't appriciate that, but you don't leave me no choice...

  :-x  :-x  :-x

I'm waiting....
Amiga 500, 1200, 4000, Amigaone, Morphos, CyberstormPPC, Blizzardppc, OS4.x

@ALL

Could it not just simply be that the cause of the late estiamted release date for the PV be down to the fact that they are also having to create MiniPCI grfx cards?

It could also be down to a delay in getting shipments of chips and other parts which is no fault of there own when you consider a request for "500" chips compared to an order for 10x that much!!

Please can everyone stop these tired posts as they are wearing abit thin.

AmiBoy

It could also be that they were unable to even take a photograph of the prototype boards, which have been running Linux since 2004, because their digital camera was stolen by aliens and while trying to retrieve it they were kidnapped and beamed aboard the aliens' spaceship where they suffered horrible tests before being dumped back to Earth in the Himalayas near the Tibetan border where they were attacked by mountain goats.

Developing such a board is a pain in the ass. It will take years. Even the developement of the FPGAs on the PowerUP boards needed 2 years.

yes this is the usually or this what we use to see in amiga scene all these years, but guys these asian companies who can produce amazing mobos with all the good and new technology stuff, every 3-6 months they bring new models and ''we'' in amiga can't do at least one that works ok with no probs? finaly, why amiga inc have to beg every eyetech and don't apply the job to an asian manufacture? the result would be quicker, cheaper and more stable as i see it from this point of view...

Do you really think that AmigaINC has the funding for this?? With the amigaone, amiga inc didnt have to pay a crap for production.
