Hi All,
I was wondering if could seek some advice on a small problem that I have with the cable that connects my Bvision to my VGA monitor. Over time the cable has become damaged in some way causing intermittent image problems. I acquired the Bvision from a scrap A1200 and the person that I purchased the card off advised that earlier the cable had caught fire which is why the Amiga was scrapped.
I checked the card fully before fitting in my own miggy. This cable was in turn fixed. It wasn't long before it started again. I have looked at the cable and the ribbon cable that goes from the Bvision to the VGA connector seems fine, however there is a sort of braided cable running along side the ribbon cable...Maybe the braided cable was wound around the main ribbon cable when made....I can only presume that the braided cable is some sort of Shield/Ground cable. Although the cable is damaged, it still displays a super quality image when working.
Is this correct? and is it needed? or...Would the cable need to be replaced? Any advice would be appreciated?
