there are adapters that will go from 50 pin to 68 pin as well as 80 pin. You will need to do some searching to find them but try your local dedicated computer hardware and software store first. the adapters will usualy have a circuit board and a power input on them so you can use the newer types of SCSI drives. I have several that I use in my system.

Amiga 2000HD Indivision ECS
Amiga 4000D towerised OS 3.1 and 3.9 on CF cards
Indivision AGA, Mediator 4000
Video Toaster 4000 Flyer v4.3 Millenium.
202gig of video drive space & 5gig audio.

Yes I know, I found some on eBay, but the problem is that I have to use the space where a Zorro card would got to use it. The A4000 has an empty slot in it's back called "Expansion port" but it has a different size/shape. So to use the expansion port I either find an adapter that actually fits (where ??) in it or will have to cut one of the existing ones.
Amiga accelerator cards that have a scsi controler probably were sold with cables that would fit well in the expansion port.

tough find, but there are 50pin scsi headers that will fit into the back of the a4000 expansion port to run an external scsi from say like a warpengine  (like in the a4000 i'm slowly building)
look in older mac related hardware resources for this type of item

I had to cut a custom piece for my DB68 connector.  BTW, the 68pin connecter is just about too wide for the expansion slot (I use the hex nut itself on one side to attach it to the case).  If you don't mind the additional cost an 8mm HD plug would work better, but would still require custom hardware.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Get one of the adapters meant for a zorro-slot cutout, and buy a dremel.

Yeah, I guess I'll just make one of those fit.
BTW WarpEngine here too:)
