adding ide cdrom

hi, i dug up my a2000 out of my garage.  i have a csa darrenger 030 50mhz with 16meg ram. alfapower atbus2000 with a 170mb ide disk. microway flicker fixer. 2.05 os

i want to put a cdrom on this system.

i have the following spares:
1 scsi cdrom
1 ide cdrom
1 ide zip
1 scsi zip
1 scsi jaz
1 syquest 3.5 170m i think

what is my best option to add a cdrom and other stuff.  i need to move alot of files from my pc to amiga, to restore my software.

Have you considered a network connection ?

Or to connect the Amiga HDD to the PC ? Would be much faster than any other solution.

There are only two CD-ROM drives in your list, so I would take one of them. And as you obviously don't have a SCSI controller, the IDE drives are the only ones you can use.

You should also try the ZIP or JAZ drives. I don't know how they compare speedwise but they are more flexible. You can copy and delete single files instead of the entire CD and you can move files from the Amiga to the PC, too.
