openssh/geekgadgets - which amiga shell?
« on: December 04, 2005, 09:55:52 AM »
hello,

i have a problem running ssh from geegadgets via the default os3.9 amiga shell.

i start the shell, start the ssh session, do a 'export TERM="vt100"' and start the applications.

any fullscreen curses application on the remote host, does not recognize the terminal dimensions correctly, so typing in anything results in fancy 'scrolling around the scrollbars of the amiga term' actions, and some applications (e.g. mutt) end up in a completely messed up screen.

which amiga shell has the best vt100 emulation? or are there any others, like rxvt, xterm-clones, etc.?

thanx in advance

I would also like to know this.

For now I just use NapsaTerm to telnet to my linux server (which allows telnet on my local net), then use ssh or whatever program I need from there. It works very well but unfortunately NapsaTerm doesn't allow for color.
Slightly bored and severly confused..
