Where (besides NewTek) to get Toaster floppy image?
« on: November 24, 2005, 12:41:08 AM »
Hi all,

I attempted to install my Video Toaster 2000 v4.1 software recently and discovered that one of the installation floppies has a bad sector and another is missing.

NewTek did not return emails asking if I could buy or download the disks I needed.

I have the software legitmately; the disks are originals and I have the original CD-ROM, too.

Has anyone got any experience with NewTek? Am I just not badgering them enough? Alternately, is there another source?

Thanks for any advice!

Hi,
    I've got two sets of the Toaster/Flyer floppies, but they're version 4.1d.  There are three disks in the set.  Is this what you had in mind?  Pmail me and we can chat some more!

Newtek is a wonderful company. I have recently transfered registration of (2)used Amiga Video Toasters and a Flyer card. They not only repaired one of the Toasters for me without charge, they sold me the latest Amiga software install CD version 4.3 for something like $29.00!

They do want you to transfer the registration to your name first before they sell you software updates, but they will help you with that too. Call the 1-800 number on the Newtek web site and wait for support, or try these;

Enrique emoreno@newtek.com
Customer Service cs@newtek.com

Their spam trap might not let your email through on the first try, but they will help if you call. Kudos to these folks, they could have LONG forgotten about us and they haven't:-D

Hi, Jeff:

Thanks a lot for the reply. Your message renews my faith in NewTek!

I suppose I hadn't considered the possibility that they get a metric ton of spam per day--So, I think calling them is the best idea. I am very happy to spend $29 for new media, and any way I can give them a bit of money to keep them helping us Amigans out is a good thing...as long as we're not talking hundreds or thousands to re-buy the software! ;-)

I can confirm that NewTek will happily supply version 4.3 of the Amiga Toaster 2000 software to anyone. All I had to do was give them the serial number off my card (which was previously registered to a community college on Oregon) and give them US$29.95 + $6.95 shipping.

They registered the card to me and the software is on it's way! Woohoo! :-D
