Booting the A300 with the a CDROM
« on: November 14, 2005, 05:18:10 PM »
Hi...
I have my son's A3000 and it looks like his HD is dead. When I booted with my 3.1 Workbench disk I am getting a checksum error  and also with the 3.1 install disk as well. I have a CD rom connected to the sys and I have OS 3.9 on a CD. How can I boot from the CDROM on stratup ??????

Thanks :-)  :-)

Sorry,

you can't boot an Amiga from CDROM (apart from CDTV, CD32 and the like). You'll have to get functional Workbench disks.

Unless he made an emergency disk from the 3.9OS CD when he first got it.
Amiga 3000D UP and running! Hear that clicking. 8)
Amiga 3000D & 4000D in storage sadly.

Thanks....

I was able to install 3.9 and made a rescue disk. Installed my Picass iv and Xsurf2 card. All I have left to do is transfer all the Amiga files to my PC via Amiga Explorer, burn a CD for my son then the A3000 is all mine, mine mine.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
