Why I LOVE YAM
« on: October 26, 2005, 11:30:51 PM »
The most usefull ability I have found in YAM is the ability to apply XPK compression libraries to folders.

This is so very helpful, especially when I need to keep e-mail that is text related and constant like fault logging information that is sent from users on my work network.

Under Outlook, these folders typically get to the 600MB mark.
Under my lovely AMIGA and YAM, they are around 45MB.
Mainly because they are just text generated from web pages capturing user info, but also because, each fault report has the same information so compresses easily.

I LLLLLLove YAM

Really well thought out program. Only feature I would love to see is some sort of RTF or HTML viewing, but I'll live without it for all the other features.
It's not the question, that is the problem, it is the problem, that is the question.

I love YAM too. And besides the HTML viewing, I can't think of a single feature I'd want added. I don't even really care about the HTML viewing because I can easily view it with iBrowse using HTMLread. (Also, I agree with the "Boycott HTML emails" website, which explains that bloated HTML mail was created to improve advertising and perverts the original vision of email as efficient text communication)

YAM is MUCH more fun to use than the crappy Outloot(sic) I have to use at work.

Yeah, I don't really need HTML I suppose.
Some sort of RTF would be nice as an option though.
It's not the question, that is the problem, it is the problem, that is the question.

I love YAM because:
1. Its free.  This is always a nice feature.  :-D
2. YAM allowed me to integrate it into Total Chaos via an Arexx script for PBEM (Play By E-Mail) support.
3. All my friends are using it, and they like it.
4. It is for the AMIGA.  This is the very best feature.  :-D
Wanna try a wonderfull strategy game with lots of handdrawn anims,
Magic Spells and Monsters, Incredible playability and lastability,
English speech, etc. Total Chaos AGA

With YAM I have no fear opening all these attachments.
