WHy would you want to?

Believe me.this game is NOT a fps game  ....... it is more like Dungeon Master and those types.

This game is utter trash.....I have it somewhere and if I ever find it..you can have it free.

or maybe I already sold it.

Get Gloom and Gloom Deluxe as well as DOOM for the Amiga.

My uess is that youw ant to run Deth Mask on a plain A500 and thats why you want it?

CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...

No, it's an AGA game from what I read and I'd like to try it exactly for its rpg and fps elements.  btw, I have Gloom Deluxe, AlienBreed3d and the like already.  They are strictly fps and none too challenging.  The fps shooter that works on an a500 is called Citadel, iirc.

In fact if you're after a FPS/RPG looking game then try and get hold of Legends Of Valour. It's an RPG like Dungeon Master, but moves like Doom. I had a demo of it years ago and it seemed quite good.

I think it worked on all Amigas, very crude fps with 90 degrees turns but good sounds.

Perhaps it needed 1 MB memory.

Death Mask isn't even worth mentioning. It has to be the lamest attempt at creating a FPS-alike game on the Amiga.

I spoke with the programmer of Death Mask (Mark Page, aka Rombust, ex-member of the Nerve Axis demo group) a couple of years ago and even he said that the game is terrible :-)

He also wrote Super Methane Bros, which is a fun game and now available (with source code) in Windows, Linux, and RiscOS flavours from here, and some Sega Megadrive games.

My 2 cents:

Sure, Death Mask wasn't real FPS like DOOM which was extremely popular that time, but this game was playable fast on an A500, had super sound (MiniGun anyone?) and music and featured also 2 player mode.

Even A1200 was too slow to run playable FPS games. That said, I played AB3D through with a stock A1200 and oh boy it was hard. With accelerator, the game becomes more playable and easier.

I think it was an interesting idea to mix Dungeon Master and DOOM.

why dont you go for Testament or maybe Breathless instead? I think the´re a bit more fun to play than Death Mask.

BTW, does anyone remember Fears? (was it called that??) An a500 fps?

Death Mask has only '4 views'- north, south.. etc
you cannot look up or down either, so it is kind of crap,

BUT if you have only A500 then its kind of fun in two player mode (only), really try it with a friend, there are some nice tricks like invisibility mode in deathmatch..
Better sorry than worry.

Okay, I finally have played Death Mask (thanks Orange) and I can say it's great fun (maybe my idea of fun is different than others).  It runs very nicely on an ECS A2000/030 @40MHz and I'm going to try it on the A500.  I remember fondly back to the time when the 'Doom' craze hit the Amiga (maybe 1996-98).  That was a great time for Amiga games discovering this genre.  The list is pretty long (Citadel, Death Mask, Jurassic Park, Fears, Gloom, Alien Breed3D, Breathless, Testament, Trapped).  And then of course along came Doom itself and later Quake even on 68040+ machines.  I'm trying to play them all just for nostalgia sake.  Gloom in two player mode is great fun as is Death Mask now I have learned.

I see there is an OS4 port of Marathon; wonder if anyone is up to the task of a 68K port????
