My ideal scan doubler would have the following features:

* 24-bit analog to digital conversion for full AGA pallete reproduction

* Scan doubling of all low scan modes including super-hi res

* Flicker fixing of all interlaced modes

* External

* Optional:  S-VHS or Component Video Out

With low scan multisync monitors near extinction , I'd galdly pay $200 for this piece of equipment.

With that info (# of ppl. + $$$ willing to spend) companies might be more willing to make another batch or someone who is good with a soldering iron and a bit of business sense could make something happen.

Just a Thought.

----------------------------------------------------------

If anyone has information on an existing design, I may be able to put something together as a diy kit.  I would consider manufacturing, but it's not a likely option for me.  At least, I'm most unlikely to go to the extent of making any custom chips, though programming chips is quite possible.  I've always wanted an SD/FF for my 1200 (specially since I got married, and my wife hates the extra monitor in our small place).  I will (hopefully) soon graduate as an electronic engineer, so may take on the project when I finish.  I don't know that I would bother designing the thing from scratch though, particularly as I don't have a fully featured research lab in my home.
Good good study, day day up!
