Searching for A500 Hacks
« on: September 30, 2005, 06:16:56 AM »
Subject pritty much sais it all. I'm going to help a friend put in as many hacks as possible in his A500 (Rev6a motherboard with a GVP8+ and VXL-30). Got quite a few written down already but I still ask for anyone that can submit anything to do so.

I'd personaly like to know if there's a way to add a battery to the motherboard somehow, as the memory card underneath will be replaced with soldered on memory.

Also wonder if anyone know of a place to buy small (laptop) CDrom's with SCSI interface?

Ow yah, and if anyone could tell us where we could dig up a EMatrix530/Viper530 that'd be apriciated too. :)

I have been assembling the bits to build a super A500 too.
I have a Mega Midget Racer, ROM switcher, MegAChip RAM, Action Replay MKIII and a thingy that gives me two zorro slots.

Anyone got a Viper 530? :-)

@Brian:

If you with battery mean battery backed up clock, you could check the A501 schematics and make a little circuit-board containing its RTC circuit and then add that one to the motherboard.

Hi:
i have an A500 with a ematrix 530 with scsi&Ide, jaz and zip, scsi cdrom and a slingshot pro. Has anyone tried this adapter with a cybervision or another video card? I'm already test a xsurf ethernet card on it and it seems to work (i dont have a boradband connection there but it is addressed and recognized by miami).

Saludos
