E-UAE/UAE on Linux?
« on: August 16, 2005, 04:19:34 PM »
For some days ago i came to think about all those wonderful hours spend in front of my A600, now i only have a PC. For the last three days I've been trying to set up UAE and E-UAE on Linux (Gentoo, 2.6 kernel). I have downloaded Kickstart roms (1.3 and 3.1) and games like SuperFrog and Beneath a steel sky. But i dont know how to make it boot the *.lzx files...

a little help would be much aprisiated!

Yup, you also can try to create a harddisc file where you can save all those Amiga files. .lzx files are Archives like .zip, .rar, .lha, etc. In fact lzx is an improved lha archive format. You need an lzx tool to dearchive such files like e.g. De-Crunch.

If you don't want to set up Harddisk-enviroment, install Workbench and unpack all the .lzx files from within there - I suggest you look for the games elsewhere. I think both Superfrog and Beneath a Steel Sky can be found at Back 2 The Roots.

But Beneath a Steel Sky you'll probably want to run from HD anyway :)
Slightly bored and severly confused..

But how would you do that? If you start UAE and insert the Workbench floppy, how would you access the .lzx files? The files are on the PC drive...
