That is, indeed, very expensive. I havent seen one of these models before, it looks .... erm .... "bulky"

Not sure it's worth that much cake though :-D

Thanks,
Mike

Thats why I dont get anything off ebay Amiga related now. Its just
nuts on that site. Not only Amiga stuff, its most things even. Those
things are so simple inside too. If you saw what it took to make one
you would be shocked at how much the people making them charged. Its
like if you put "amiga compatable" on something its a license to add
100% markup.

It's gotta be the "Commodore Factor", ie - if someone can sell a powerful peice of hardware for a nickel, we'll find a way to make someone pay $3,000 for it. :-D

Thanks,
Mike

Holy crap! Just order a ToastScan from SoftHut... I happen to think THEIR stuff is outrageously priced, but still half of what that dude just shelled out! YIKES!

Mac Mini 1.5GHz, that might run MorphOS someday, when the fools who own it come to the realization that 30 minutes just isn\'t enough time to play with it enough to decide whether or not you like it enough to cough up $200.

 - Someone please design SOME kind of DIY accelerator for the A4000. :D -

I had to look twice when I saw how much it went for, I expected it to make 100ish but £198 is crazy. That guy must have really wanted it either that or he forgot he was bidding in GBP lol

I think it's the Software Hut Toastscan which although they dont have in stock is priced at $145 (£81) new, so the seller made a killing  :-D

I emailed software hut about the toastscan and they dont have it in stock as I said above, but they did say they were working on a new model scan doubler that should be ready in September.

I HATE E-BAY :pissed:

@drwho

Its an Eyetech EZ-VGA or this by Elbox ScanDoublerFF.

Don't know which is the original or the clone.

EDIT- indeed a new SD-FF would be a great deal!

Or is it this one?

http://www.amiga-hardware.com/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=355

I have one of these.  It works pretty well.  Bought it to deal with Amigas that don't have internal SD/FF.  I ended up with an A2k and A500 after buying it so it has come in handy.  I paid a ridiculous sum of money for mine on EBay too but only after trying to buy one retail and having no luck at all.  The Amigas' Achilles heel(s).  Flickerfixers and floppies. :(

...but I think it has 3 video switches with gold plated contacts  :-D

(didn't prevent mine to develop contact problems, cured by gentle polishing under magnifier lens; they are tiny...)

mm I just lost an auction where I went no further than 40 euro's. I already have a scandoubler but came across one that was on 15 euro's with only a day to go. Got outbid in the end. Maybe I should have put a higher maximum. If these things can go for these prices I could have made some nice extra cash.

@ Franco

Yeah I'm sure its an Eyetech EZVGA, I have one of these myself. I was given it for free....but maybe I should sell it...?

But you know what happens, you see someone else sell one for loads of money, but when you sell YOURS you get much less...
I like Amigas
