extracting adf files on amiga
« on: December 18, 2007, 09:11:28 PM »
How do i extract and write adf files to disk on my A4000. Is there a C file that i can add like LHA so I can extract it using Arc Ext on Dopus or any other really simple way to get the data from an adf file. :D

You have to understand that an adf file is not an archive like an lha file, but an image file of a disk. So you don't exactly dearchive them; that's why a lot of programs write them to floppy disk but you can also mount them in a virtual floppy drive; a tool that does that is called Diskimage I believe.

The idea is that this way you can also make files of floppies that aren't DOS compatible. Mounting these disks isn't really usefull in normal WB use though.

If you just want to get the files out of the adf with a filesystem:
Code: [Select]
1.> xadUnFile diskarchive foo.adf t:foo/
Much handier than mucking about with virtual floppies or RAD: :-)
