If you guys are THAT serious and hardup for some near-Free Amiga's.......
I STRONGLY suggest you start finding a way to check each and EVERY SINGLE High School in the United States for "Video Production Classes" that are "upgrading their computers"
Of course, truth is, they are really downgrading

But..... realisticly, this is the year for a lot of schools to be getting grants lately. Which means they will be shelving or auctioning off...... or sadly, flat out throwing in the dumpster.... every single one of their Amiga 4000 Toaster systems!
A couple of years ago, a friend here locrally got lucky and got a bunch of A4000's and A4000T's from a local high school for a whopping $50 ! FOR ALL OF THEM!
Something like 18 Amiga 4000's Each one had a video toaster in them. Weird thing was, the school for some reason believed they could transplant all the SIMMS over to PC's , so that was the only thing that was stripped. Every single SIMM was taken out. (Yes including those 2mb CHIP RAM SIMMS)
Harddrives were moved over to other systems too. The Software for the Toaster's were literaly thrown away. Almost all of the monitors were either kept or moved to other areas for use (mainly speaking of the RGB's here, naturally they kept all VGA style monitors)
The guy placed a lot of these on EBAY and made a killing. Even without the memory.
Lately, on EBAY, there have been some A4000T's that have come straight from a school that was upgrading. So either this is the tip of the iceberg or a trend that's soon to come.
Sadly, a lot of schools wont even bother to put them on ebay. So you have to act fast. I have no clue at all how to find which HS's out there are dumping which and what.
But if someone here DOES get lucky and hit the motherlode because of my advice, I *do ask* (hehe) that you think of me . I'd really rather have a 3000Tower...... but Im not going to be picky
I realize that most Classic Amiga's are going to be ultra rare and pricey even on EBAY.
But this price could sharply change if some person(s) here organize and start a sending e-mails to as many high schools as possible that have had "Video production" classes in the last 10 years.
Interesting note, someone mentioned that a lot of schools simply store "old computers" or equipment in storage facilities (or storage rentals) for either future disposal, auction, or use.
Because there is so much paper work, they are actually prohibited from simply giving the stuff to any individual connected with the school system. So they end up stored forever, or thrown away.
So with that said, and the fact mentioned above how rare Classic Amiga's are getting..... it's not a bad idea for some serious folk here to begin a monthly check , state by state if possible, scan..... for Amiga's sitting around.
You dont want to be telling them that these things are worth a great deal, rather that you are a collector of old computers......etc. Be smart people.
But more importantly....... start looking!
