They got me again!
« on: June 08, 2005, 02:15:48 AM »
Well, here I go again.  As careful as I am they (ebay) got me again.

I won this item;
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7517159859&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

Two weeks after paying for the item I receive an ES-2200T with one TBC III, not Two TBC IV's as desribed.  I am not a happy camper.  I am waiting for a resolution from the seller.

I just wanted to vent a little bit :pissed:

Jeff

Well, it doesn't look good so far.  The seller hasn't answered my emails yet. I'm looking for a little advice. I probably won't just let this go.

Where do I start if the seller doesn't contact me, and how long do I wait for a reply before I do something? I figured since "stuff happens" I would give him at least another day or so.  He has a bunch of other auctions ending tomorrow night.

It seems my options are;

1 Contact Ebay
2 Contact Paypal
3 Contact my Credit Card Company (I haven't paid them yet)
4 In what order do I do this?

Although I have done a lot on Ebay, I don't have a lot of experience resolving these type of issues.  Most sellers are happy to work with you if a problem occurs.

I would accept a partial refund and keep the unit, or 100% refund and return it.  I have sent these options to the seller.  The item description clearly isn't what I received (see previous message).

Thank You,
Jeff

I'd start with a complaint to the credit card company.
They are the only one that will be interested in helping you. (IMHO) and depending on the terms of your credit card, you maybe able to cancel payment. You need to report it to ebay and paypal also, and don't waste time doing it. There is a time limit normally on filing complaints. If you miss the dead line your options deminish. Also write another mail to the seller telling him your reporting this to all the above. Maybe it will stun him into action. He's feedback is decent so maybe you will have some luck. I have heard many times though that a seller will drag their feet waiting for those deadlines to occur, so start lighting some fires!

Good luck.

@Jeff

I'd bet you that the seller will just tell you that what you got is what you paid for.

Seeing the questions asked and answered, he doesn't know what he is selling, as all he can tell is that it powers on.

If you can't get in touch with the seller in case you want to return it, then go to your credit card company. If they cancel the payment, I will bet that he will get in touch with you, but be sure that you will also get negative feedback on eBay....

Get in contact with eBay. There is an option in the complain procedure 'Item not as describe'. Ebay will than get in contact with the seller. If he doesn't reply to their emails they will take action. Do the same with Paypal. He has to answer to them. That might put a rocket up his ar... .
Good luck

FWIW, I've complained to ebay.nl about a few buyers and sellers and usually it resulted in action being taken.

E-bay and PayPal will both work with you. They helped me straighten out a problem before.  Ebay normally responds to your email in less than 24 hours.

First Contact ebay and explain the problem.  Log into Ebay and they have a link for problems resolution. They will want you to send them the link to the auction.

Second contact PayPal explain the problem to them they will let you know what course of action to follow.

Third you contact your credit card company. Since you did receive the item they will have specific steps for you too follow and most of them involve writing letters and snail mailing them to the company, but every card company has different procedures.

I'm still playing games with Paypal trying to get my $400.00 back from the seller so I can return the wrong item he sent(http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7517159859&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1).

Now look what happens;
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7524454965&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I should have bought this instead and sold some of my other stuff to offset the cost, but this guy still has some of my money tied up. Oh well, I hope this mess ends quickly :-D.

Dude, I know how you feel.  I've been dealing with non-paying technotards this week myself.  Sometimes I really hate eBay...  Grrrr...
