PPC Installation
« on: March 12, 2003, 01:08:04 PM »
Hi!

I jus got an 040 PPC and Mediator etc etc.

I installed successfully the mediator rtg stuff, etc etc but I dunno how to install the ppc software in order to get it running.

I´m confused with all the termonology PowerUP, WarpUp,WarpOS,Warp3D, Bppcfix, PPclibemu.....

PLEASE. Can anyone tell me the steps *exactly* I have to do?

Each program I have to install, order to do it, etc.

Thank all of you in advance.

PowerUp was Phase5's environment for the PPC's. WarpOS/WarpUp was Haage & Partner (I believe.) Same task, different methods. WarpOS also became the "official" solution.

Warp3D is of course the 3D api.

BPPCFix - The A1200 PPC accelerators have the Phase5 libraries in the flashrom. This is great if you want to use PowerUp but not so great for WarpOS. BPPCFix terminates them so you can run emulation instead.

PPCLibEmu - Emulation of PowerUp for WarpOS.

Here's a good order to install:

1. WarpOS (Comes with OS3.9 if you're using it.)
2. BPPCFix + PPCLibEmu (If you want to use them)
3. Warp3D (Should have an archive that came with the mediator software.)

Don't let this stuff intimidate you. Just install one and test it. If things are working okay, install the next item.

Then Blizkick is a must. Especially when also using OS 3.5 and OS 3.9 where a ROM upgrade is needed!
