OS 3.9 icon info question
« on: May 31, 2005, 06:26:21 PM »
My icon info seems to have reverted back to the old style, (1 page, no menus).  I really like the OS3.9 version, you can call icon toolbox straight from it, and other stuff.  Changing my RAWBinfo file in WBstartup makes no difference.  Are there any other files that deal with icon info?

Cheers

I remember having that problem before, but I can't think how I fixed it.

There don't appear to be any other files associated with RAWBInfo (nothing in env-arc or anywhere else that I can think of) and there's nothing really in the tooltypes to suggest that there's a way to change to the classic look either.

I'll have another look at it in a bit and see if something jogs my memory.

Can you confirm if RawWBInfo is running? IIRC it is a commodity, so it should show up in Exchange.

If you can't find an obvious reason for it not working, despite being in the WBStartup etc., a good way to spot many problems is to try SnoopDOS. In this instance, take RAWBInfo out of wbstartup and run it after starting SnoopDOS.

Any failed libraries/classes/whatever should be duly reported.

Also (IIRC) you can start it from shell so make sure it's not been put in the user-startup or startup-sequence.  Making sure it's not started twice (even like 2 copies in WBStartup) is a good idea - it's an easy mistake to make if you have WBStartup+

I can't see a way to change it to the classic view, but I'll have one more look.

Snoopdos showed a failure on Locale.library, one quick change later and bingo!  Locale.library of all things!!!!

I was originally thinking it could be a datatype, but I thought that'd be stupid.

Glad to see it's working now though :-)
