T-DSL and Genesis?
« on: March 10, 2003, 07:58:38 PM »
Hi all,

Has anyone successfully set up an Ethernet connection with T-DSL and Genesis? Is MiamiDX the only software which will allow dynamic IP addresses? I just keep getting a message that BOOTP failed. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Only with XSurf (ethernet-card) or a router.
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

You need DHCP to be allocated dyamic IPs. Genesis doesn't support this. BootP is old and almost no-one uses it any more.

Have a look at the DLink 604 broadband router.

Configurable over browser, includes switch(4ports), automatically reconnects, port forwarding, dmz and more.

Pretty nice piece of tech I must say and can spare you a lot of trouble.
