Are you new to selling on ebay?

I recommend building up positive feedback score on ebay by buying stuff first. Since you have (0) feedback, if you get any negative or neutral feedback, you're pretty much hooped as far as ebay goes. I'm not sure what the policy is in the UK, but any negatives when you start out might result in deletion/suspension of your ebay account.

Watch out for ebayers with negative feedback. Be careful with ebayers whose native language is not english, any miscommunication could result in negative feedback. If someone who did not know what this was were to buy it and be unable to get it working, they might give you a negative feedback.

Anyways, just some advice :-D

Bought in 2004 and the fan already makes " a ginding noise"?

I'd replace that before sale to avoid trouble.

Yeah, I've only used EBay once before, and that was to be duly sniped by someone else who wanted onEscapee too.

I'll see what happens with this board. If it doesn't go, I suppose I'll have to try some other approach.

Cheers for the advice :]

The fans supplied with the XE models are all notoriously poor, as you may (or may not) know. That's why the processors come underclocked to 800MHz... There haven't been any issues with overheating on my board, but I believe that clocking the G4 at its native 933MHz with that fan would be a mistake.

I would have replaced the fan by now, except that that invalidates the warranty, apparently, which wasn't a risk I was willing to take.

Yes fans on A1 sucks. Sometimes they even aren't stable on the cpu. I replace mine with another and clocked my A1 to 1000Mhz.

Anyway it is not the reason of underclock. But bacause the first models had a 800Mhz cpu, later the same model at the same price was selled with a clocked down 933 to respect adverstisment.

I suggest to post your auction on calssified on aw.net, a lot of people are interested in XE.
