re-socketing the 68060on cyberstorm
« on: March 07, 2005, 08:22:57 PM »
Is there a company that do resock the 68060 on a cyberstorm 604e/233 68060/50 ?
I have now a supporting bracket to it what pushes it down towards the print.
This method works for now but for how long?
It seems to be the socket itself has come loose of the print.
But it is very hard to come by so I have seen!
Can this france repair centre repair this?
What would it going to cost?
Any others here with simular problems?
Sometimes wished that it was a normal 68060 board without the ppc.
Just because I never had trouble with processorcards on amiga before but when the card boots it all works nice.
Already tried many reseats of the processor but only when I push it downwards(as with the bracket) it boots.

Send an email to amiga centre in France.
I'm going to send a Cyberstorm MKIII with a broken CPU socket which they said they could fix.
They also have an external scandoubler which they think and I hope can be upgraded to a flicker fixer also.
Dunno how much all these repairs/fix will cost...and don't want to until later, hehe
