I've Finally figured out the prblems for MOST of my early startup sceen probs. listed in this post:

BUT!  Does anyone know how to change, if possible the screenmode used for hte Cyberstorm Early startup screen?

You mean the one you get by holding down Esc during a reboot?

Pressing space will switch the mode over to a 15KHz HiResLaced mode.

it won't switch, I tried that...  :(

It's just a constant double imaged screen mode.

Which version of the FlashRom firmware do you have installed?

Type in a shell:

version cybppc.device full

and post here the output
