Adide40 annoying me!
« on: January 08, 2005, 07:37:30 AM »
Okies... I have an ADIDE 40 currently installed in an A500 rev6a with 1meg chip, KS 1.3 and I'm having huge problems.

The software to setup the harddrive just doesnt work!
doh, ICD partitioning software v2.0 is a P.O.S

The ADIDE I have uses the device driver 'icddiskide' and not adide or idedevice etc that other places on the web indicate should be its autoboot device driver

Anyway... if I pre-prep a drive using buddha ide (using HDInstTools6.9) and then straight swap the drive onto the ADIDE it will not see the drive!! If I use the ICD partition program it will not recognise any drive parameters, will not probe the drive for info and will always ask for some IBM BIOS number? which if I use something similar to the installed drives parameters, will not partition as it fails a check and says "not enough reserve space for error mapping' etc

I'm not having much fun with this atm..  doh!

any help would be appreciated
anyone have a scan of the manual?

I have used KS1.3, KS2.04 and KS3.1 same thing :-(

Az
