It says something like this:

Labs 2 accelerates with the widest broadband for end-customers. Tomorrow "Lundabor" ( people living in the city of Lund ) can get 1Gbps - for a cost of ~85€ / month.

By Jonnie Wistrand

The first isp to offer 1 gigabit/second via Labs 2 will be HSB Scania. For an added cost of ~60€/month, customers can get the really fast connection. For an end-customer in Scania that means a monthly cost of ~85€ for one gigabit per second.

A starting fee of ~150€ adds to the cost and you must sign up for a minimum of 6 months, announces Labs 2.

"Personally I think this development is logical considering the rapid technical development which drives down the equipment prices", writes Labs 2 CEO Jonas Birgersson in an interview.

I get a 1.5Mb line for £18.99 a month from NTL http://www.home.ntl.com/icat/broadband

It's fast enough for me! :-)

@Orjan

Thanks :-) Sadly, it'll be a while before we see anything like that downunder :-( Until then I'll be content with my 6Mbps fibre link :-)

@ adz

Sadly, this is not very likely to spread very fast. I "only" have a 10 mbit-connection, and unless I move, it won't get faster.

"Only" 10Mbps...oh dear :-P The fastest connection I have come across through work is a 100Mbps link at LaTrobe Uni and soon all Victorian schools will be equiped with a 2Mbps E1 line, I know where I'll be running my personal web server soon :-D

My brother downloaded a file in ~9.5MB/sec when I was visiting him some time ago, that's more then 3 times the speed I get from my A4000 HD using the Internal IDE controller :lol:
