I've been getting a lot of `Checksum Error' messages in the last 2x
days but in my case this means data transfer along my SCSI chain is
dodgy. If I selected more than 1x error retry I might avoid the hassle
but I like to see that data integrity along the cabling is 100%
secure.
I attempted to LOAD a saved file earlier and the Amiga crashed, more
than likely corrupted data was sent through the SCSI chain.
However when the Amiga started booting up again the hard disk whirred
up in the usual validating noise.
How can it possibly have gotten invalidated in a READ process, I
thought invalidation only occurred when something was written to disk
and was interrupted?
Anyway, not add insult to injury the Amiga crashed again during the
validation process but on the next reboot it got to Workbench and
didn't do any validating.
What's going on? My partition is now seen as validated when the
validation process crashed. Is this going to give me trouble in the
future?
I only just performed a DiskSalv REPAIR function on the whole drive
and everything was given a clean bill of health (bitmap valid,
everything GOOD, corrupt files recovered etc.)
Any ideas on improving my Blizzard's SCSI-IV reliability would be
appreciated too!
