workbench 3.1 disk
« on: July 09, 2004, 10:19:24 PM »
Im new to amiga's and recently bought workbench 3.1 off ebay. The problem is I somehow managed to mess up the workbench disk. The rest of the disks work, but I cant mount a PC0 drive, as the mount.c file are on the workbench disk. If anone could post me the workbench disk for workbench 3.1. I would be more than happy. I will pay for any postage and disk costs.

d'oh!  Always use a backup of the workbench disk.  Tell us which country you live in, so we can find someone closer to you and save on postage.

:lol:

But as for the problem, postage from US to UK on media isn't great... And the chances of the disk making it intact are worse.  So can anyone help him with a Workbench?  I mean, in another thread here, he was posting about trying to get CrossDOS to work, and stated exact error messages.  That's probably good enough proof that he HAD a workbench disk.  ;-)

And use da backups, man!  It doesn't matter how good you get with Amiga, you still screw up every now and then!

---

Also, what actually happened to your workbench disk?  Is it totally unreadable, or just develop a bad block, or what?

Greetings,

@Skippy
I've seen CrossDoss patches off Aminet.
Click -> http://ftp.uni-bremen.de/aminetbin/find?crossdos

But, i'm not sure if that would help. Maybe give it a try, and never
forget, before anything else, to make a back-up of all your WB3.1.

Hope that helps.

Regards,

Gizz

The disk is well screwed wont boot and when i finally managed to get back to the workbench screen, the workbench disk just come up with df0:????. so i created a new blank disk and copied all the files off the install disk, then tried re installing crossdos, problem is I cant mount the pco drive as the mount handler is on the workbench disk. So im well screwed without a new disk. really hope someone can send me a new workbench disk or even just the handler files.
