The script in Miami needs to be something like:

WAIT "HELLO"
SENDBREAK

(that's from memory, I'm sure it should be longer)

Might be worth setting "show terminal window" on the 2k machine and seeing if anything pops up on there.  Make sure you are using "Generic NULL modem" and not one of the "connection between two PCs" drivers.

thanks Chris,

I can't find a "Generic NULL Modem" on the system. All it has is "Communication Cable Between 2 PCs" and then all the "Standard xxx bps modems".
