Hi,
This topic has been discussed many times but here goes,
You have an ADF file on your PC wou would like to have on your real Amiga.
There are various ways to get it there but first a hard fact.
Standard PC diskdrives are incapable to read or write Amiga disks EVER! If there is software claiming it can I sure like to try it.
There are various ways to get your adf back on a Amiga readable disk:
1) Let your PC write an amiga disk. You need special hardware for this. (Catweasle floppy disk controller I recall)
2) Get your amiga to write the disk.
This is the path I followed so let me explain;
2.1 You can use cross dos to get the adf to your amiga. Crossdos is a piece of software that enables your amiga to read/write 720k PC (dos) disks. Bummer, the ADF is over 900k. This is a cheap but troublesome way. Split the adf merge the adf and so on....we'll continue with your other options.
(Crossdos shipped from workbench 2.1 and above)
2.2 Connect your Amiga to your PC via serial or parallel link.
This can be done using a null modem cable (serial) or a lablink cable (parallel).
For the serial link you can use a terminal on both sides, for the parallel link you can use PC2AM as I recall available at aminet.
The required software must be transferred to your amiga once by using method 2.1. You need to start somewhere.
2.3 Connect your amiga to your PC using ethernet.
This requires more software and hardware.
I followed the path to up here.
First method 2.1 to transfer pc2amiga to my A1200.
Then method 2.2 using a parallel cable to transfer MUI MIAMI (demo) an FTP server and cnet.device to my A1200.
Then a TCP/IP link using the above to transfer the adf files to my A1200.
You'll need an NIC (ethernet card) aswell.
Which method You use; you're going to need adf2disk (again on aminet) to make the amiga write your adf to disk

.
This is the path I followed.
The next step is compact flash, but this is expensive and requires an A600 or A1200.
I made a bootdisk for the amiga enabling it to read the compact flash. So my laptop writes the ADF to the compact flash disk and the amiga reads it and writes the disk.
(The compact flash is also an excellent backup medium this way)
This is all I know about it.
Dont hesitate to ask for more details

.

Erno
