External floppy drive replace problem
« on: November 25, 2012, 08:05:45 PM »
Hi everybody!
My external floppy drive is almost dead, so I modified one regular pc floppy drive to support Disk change and ready signal and set the drive as DS1. Then I opened my external drive and noticed that it had odd 26pin microfloppy connection without power chord going to FDD.

So question is, where can I find 26pin to 34pin cable pinout?

Thanks!
Just some beginner stuff: 2 Amiga 500s, external FD, 512kb expansion mem, RGB Scart, some random joysticks , Amiga mouse (Tank model) and some floppies... And a dead Commodore 64C with Datassette cassette drive and RGB->composite wire. And some tapes, self made with computer and normal recordable cassette deck :)

Ok, I found one pinout from internet. Would this work?: http://www.martinruss.com/sy99adapter.html

And is there a possibility that it would hurt my Amiga?

So, I tried to make converter from pinout above, but Amiga wouldn't even start! All I got was black screen and from some reason internal fdd's motor was spinning.

plz anybody any ideas???
