use card patch and card reset as folow

C:CardPatch
Run >NIL: C:CardReset TICKS 50

btw: why don't you installing genesis, the tcp/ip that amigaos3.9 comes with?
after you install it, it will be a matter of some minutes to complete the wizard
and you will be online in no time.
