Well I've done a little research and from what I understand as long as a program is not trying to access the amigas custom chips it should run on a Sam under os 4.1. So for example old games will not run but a word processors should work or other standard apps. I have not received my Sam yet, it is supposed to be here this week so I'm certainly no authority. As far as software that has been tested I guess OS4 depot is apparently the best resource and aminet of course. I have personally found it a bit difficult gaining info on OS4 and Sam. I don't know if it has to do with the ongoing legal battle or what but I'm sure that doesn't help matters. I actually made a suggestion awhile back to have a section of Amiga.org devoted to OS4 and Sam etc... but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

Ongoing legal battle??

You'll have to post your experiences with the sam board when it arrives. Does it come with the G4 or G3 processor do you know?

Well yes, I don't know all the details but there is a legal battle going on in the courts between Hyperion and Amiga Inc. over who owns the rights to the Amiga OS. It's been discussed to death here at A.org and on other sites. I would have much preferred purchasing my Sam and OS4.1 here in the US but when I contacted Software Hut they said that they could not help me due to the legal issues. So I guess my Samiga and OS4.1 are illegal which makes it all the more tasty.

And yes I will post some info about my Yosemite SAM (Simple Amiga Motherboard) after I've had some time to get acquainted with it. As for the processor all I know is that Amiga kit told me that it is a 440EP CPU running at 800mhz.
